Chesapeake Bay Aquatic Club (CBAC) Members

With the 2018-19 season concluded, the CBAC Board would like to thank the coaches, swimmers and parent volunteers for a successful season. We would also like to provide information across several areas with the 2019-20 season fast approaching.

Starting Back

Registration and practices for 2019-2020 season will begin on August 19th with a two-week trial. All groups will begin practice at 6:15pm and there will be no drylands during these two weeks. If you know any families that may be interested in joining the team, coaches will be doing evaluations during the first two weeks from 5pm to 6pm. Please pass this information along to anyone who may be interested.

For those that have not heard, St. Mary’s College will be replacing the air handler system for the pool complex, with this project slated to start 16 March 2020. We will have a long course season. We are anticipating that our last full practice week at the college will end approximately 14 February 2020 as our pool will host four straight weeks of championships to include the Colonial Athletic Conference (CAC), MD LSC Senior Champs, MD LSC 14 and Under Champs and Jr Champs. With the St. Mary’s pool unavailable, the CBAC Board will establish practice time and meet Time in other venues. The board is in talks with different pool facilities for lane rental for the February – August 2020 timeframe for practices. As far as hosting our April Spring Into Long Course and June Summer Splash, we are looking for alternative sites to host these meets. As plans firm up, updates will be provided.

From the overwhelming positive feedback that the Board and Coaches received, we will continue the developmental and regular groups that were established at the start of the 2019 Long Course Season. This information will be sent out shortly.

Our Club will see a tremendous amount of turnover in the next few years and for CBAC to continue to host and run meets at our high standard we are in need of parents taking on these roles to include Stroke and Turn, Meet Referee and Administrative Official. There is a clinic on 21 September 2019 at the:
Rosenbloom Owings Mills Jewish Community Center (JCC)
3506 Gwynnbrooke Ave.
Owings Mills, MD 2117
The duties and requirements for these positions are as follows:
