Swim Groups





 

CBAC offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the CBAC is to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

SWIM GROUPS

Pre Team/Lessons program

Description: For swimmers of any age who have little to no swimming experience. Practice will be held 2 times a week for 30 min. The purpose of the group is to teach competitive swimming stroke and technique. The group will be divided by age.  

 

 

Red Hots/ Intro to competitive team

Description: Ages 6 and up. Under the guidance of professional coaches, Red Hots will learn and develop the four (4) competitive swimming strokes, racing starts and turns. Practice will be held Three times a week. This program is an excellent introduction to year-round competitive swimming.

                                                     

Bronze Group-(10-under)

10-under/ Developmental Group

Developmental group will be offered year round. It will be an accelerated version of Red Hots for those 10-under who have been deemed ready by Red Hots and Bronze coaches and head coach to move up.

Practice Frequency: 4-5 practices per week : M,T,W,Th,F, and Sat

Description: The 10-under group is your swimmers first introduction to year round competitive swimming. It is designed to help young swimmer get a solid base for competitive swimming. Emphasis will be on stroke technique, starts, and turns, how to compete in races and have FUN!!. While in developmental group your swimmer will have exposure to dry-land training, interval training, clock use, stroke technique, drills, kicking, starts, turns and aerobic training. We highly encourage regular attendance, but it is not mandatory. Competing in meets is optional, however the coaching staff will encourage all members of the group to participate meets through out the year. Meets are an important tool for coaches and swimmers to monitor improvement and skill acquisition gained in training. 

 


Silver Group-11-14

Practice Frequency:  5-7 practices per week:  M,T,W,Th,F, Sat, and Sun


Description: Our Silver group consists of swimmers ages 11 -14. Pre-senior group is the swimmers introduction to serious, competitive training and the total development of competitive swimmers. Silver training closely resembles that of the Senior level group and is set up to prepare its members for the move to the Senior group. Silver swimmers will continue to develop the four competitive strokes through kicking, drills, aerobic and anaerobic training. Silver swimmers will also build mental and physical endurance for a positive commitment to training and racing. Swimmers will compete in an annually selected sequence of meets, appropriate for the swimmer’s ability. Competition is essential to the continual success of a silver swimmer. Our training cycles revolve around our meet schedule. Without participation in meets it is next to impossible to judge a swimmers adaptation to training. The emphasis of the Silver group is in developing aerobic endurance, and continual progression of stroke technique. Swimmers in Silver group will set goals to compete in Maryland LSC Championships, Eastern Zone Championships, and the Speedo Champion Series (Sectionals)


Gold Group-(Senior Group14-0ver)


Practice Frequency: 6-9 practices per week:  M,T, W, Th, F, Sat and Sun

Description:  This group is composed of our most experienced and dedicated swimmers. They practice from 6-9 times each week. Swimmers in this group set goals to qualify for the Maryland LSC championship meet, Speedo Championship Series(Sectionals), Junior Nationals, USA Swimming National Championships and Olympic Trials meets. This group will focus heavily on the development of their Aerobic and Anaerobic energy systems as well as refining their stroke techniques. Note: Upon entering the Gold group head gold group coach Julio Zarate will let the swimmer know the number of practices expected per week.
