About us

Chesapeake Bay Aquatic Club

our,

Vision:

To be the premier nationally recognized swim club in Southern Maryland

Mission:

To bring that vision to a reality Chesapeake Bay Aquatic Club will promote and cultivate the sport of competitive swimming in Southern Maryland by teaching all levels of swimmers with the emphasis on individual progress, team unity, and family participation.

Philosophy:

The Chesapeake Bay Aquatic Club swimming program promotes and teaches the value of responsibility accountability and hard work. This discipline gives swimmers the tools to guide and direct themselves toward maximum development of their talents and abilities in the pool and in their lives outside of swimming. Similarly, the Chesapeake Bay Aquatic Club coaching staff endeavors to teach, train, and motivate young people to achieve their ultimate potential in swimming in the belief that this experience will prove valuable to them as they grow and develop as young people in the community.

The Chesapeake Bay Aquatic Club swim program strives to instill in young swimmers an understanding of and appreciation for such concepts as high self-esteem, personal accountability, self-discipline, goal setting, and goal achievement as these ideas relate to their success in training and in competition. It is our belief that the process of achieving is as significant as realizing the achievement itself.

At each level of the Chesapeake Bay Aquatic Club swim program, swimmers are pushed to strive for excellence. Striving for excellence in this sense represents the swimmers desire to achieve their highest level of potential by doing their utmost to become the best they are capable of becoming. This philosophy is consistent throughout the program, and every Chesapeake Bay Aquatic Club swimmer, Red hots to the most advanced senior swimmer, is encouraged to give their best effort and attention to each practice so they can become better then they were the day before.

CBAC

Our club is a USA Swimming year round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor.

CBAC is very proud of it swimmers’ accomplishments. CBAC swimmers have competed in Eastern Zone Championships, Junior and Senior National Championships, and World Cup. We have enjoyed success at every level of competitive swimming. Many CBAC swimmers have been offered and have accepted athletic scholarships to Division I and II schools. The program continues to climb toward the top of Maryland Swimming. CBAC was formed in September 1996 when Star swimming of St. Mary’s County and the Seahawks program at Charles County Community College merged. CBAC is a registered member of United States Swimming, Inc. (USA), the Local Swimming Committee(LSC) Maryland Swimming, Inc.

CBAC is a competitive swim team and swimmers are encouraged to compete at their appropriate skill level. Competitive swimming requires a great amount of dedication on the part of the swimmer and his or her family. Regular attendence at practice and participation in swim meets is expected of those swimmers who wish to excel.

All of our coaches, are members of the American Swim Coaches Association, and have access to the most comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches of any sport in the United States. They provide assurances that the time children spend in swimming will be quality time.

CBAC, a non profit club, is owned and run by its elected Board of Directors which meets each month. All members are welcome at each meeting and encouraged to be involved in team activities and fundraisers.

We are constantly growing and training young swimmers to maintain a well rounded competitive swim team. Thank you for joining us. We are looking forward to meeting you. Please feel free to ask another member or coachany questions you may have.
